Onboarding
When you sign up for OpenCharts, a short six-step wizard gets you set up in about a minute: what you plan to build, a little about you, your plan, and your profile. It lives on the same cloud-sky scene as the login page, and your answers shape your workspace — the tools on your sidebar and the suggestions on your Home page are tailored to the objectives you pick.
Wizard Steps
Welcome
Meet Theo, your AI assistant, and pick your onboarding language (English or Spanish).
Objectives
Tell us what you'll use OpenCharts for — pick up to three. Your first choice matters most.
About you
Your role and how you heard about us. Optional — "Prefer not to say" is always available.
Your plan
See what the Free Forever plan includes — and what upgrading unlocks.
Profile
Set your display name, claim a handle, and pick an avatar — all on one card.
Completion
A personalized set of things to try first, based on what you told us.
How Your Answers Personalize the Workspace
The objectives you pick seed your workspace on first landing: the sidebar highlights the tools that match them, and the Home page's suggestion pills lead with relevant starting points. Your first pick counts most, so lead with what matters.
None of it is locked in — you can customize the sidebar yourself at any time (your own layout is never overwritten), and every question is optional.
Skipping & Revisiting
The survey questions never block you — Continue is always enabled, and "Prefer not to say" is a first-class choice. Anything you skip (like your avatar or handle) can be configured later from the Settings page.
The onboarding wizard only appears once — after your first sign-up. It won't show again on subsequent logins. Onboarding is offered in English and Spanish; the full set of languages is available afterwards from Settings → Preferences.
